This Privacy Policy explains what information Rip Rank collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
When you create an account we store your email address, username, display name, and any optional profile details you add (bio, location, website, avatar). We record the content you create — reviews, ratings, likes, lists, comments — and related activity needed to power rankings and your profile. If you join the waitlist or receive an invite, we store the email address involved. Standard technical data (IP address, browser type) is processed for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
Cookies & sessions
We use a first-party session cookie to keep you signed in (secure, HTTP-only). Sessions last up to 7 days. This cookie is strictly necessary and is not used for advertising.
We send transactional email (verification, password reset, invites) and — only if you opt in — a weekly digest newsletter. Email is delivered via Resend, our email processor. Every digest includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can change email preferences in your profile at any time.
Analytics & cookies
With your consent, we use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics and, where enabled, the Meta Pixel) to understand how the site is used. These load only after you accept via our cookie banner, and you can decline at any time. We honor your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal by treating it as a decline.
How we use data
We use your data to operate and improve Rip Rank, personalize your experience, and maintain the integrity of rankings. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing & processors
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that run Rip Rank — hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery (Resend), error monitoring, and (with consent) analytics — each bound to process it solely on our behalf. Public content you post (reviews, lists, your username) is visible to anyone.
Your rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can deactivate your account from profile settings, unsubscribe from email at any time, and request full deletion or a copy of your data by emailing seth@riprank.com. We respond within the timelines required by applicable law. Rip Rank is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
You can manage cookie consent through the banner, adjust notification and newsletter preferences in your profile, and request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
